With an initial force of 20 thousand members, the Union of Transport, Energy, Construction, Communication, Industry, Maintenance, Mines and General Services Workers of the Mexican Republic (STTECCIMM) formally began operations in the state yesterday.
During the installation ceremony of the state section, held at the Río 70 Auditorium, different union representatives took office.
The national general secretary of STTECCIMM, Juan Carlos Talavera García, stated that the organization seeks to consolidate an inclusive and participatory union model that contributes to improving working conditions in the different productive sectors.
“We are a young union in which all social expressions fit, united in ensuring that the business sector, with the support of the STTECCIMM, generates better working conditions, greater benefits and safe work spaces for workers,” he expressed.
For his part, the state general secretary, Juan Manuel Pérez de Luna, stated that the main goal in the state is to guarantee work spaces that directly impact the quality of life of families.
“We will always look for a way for the people of Nuevo León that we represent to have a space where they can work with dignity,” he said.
Among the appointments, the one of the federal representative, Santiago González Soto, stood out, who assumed the National Training Secretariat of the Union.
The legislator pointed out that union work must focus on generating tangible benefits for workers and their families, not only in economic matters, but also in aspects related to social well-being and personal development.
“Our vocation for service is based on the search for better benefits for workers and their families, not only with salary increases and social benefits, but also with decent living conditions outside their sources of employment,” he said.
The entry into office in Nuevo León is part of an expansion strategy of the union in the northeast of the country, which also simultaneously included the installation of its state section in the neighboring state of Coahuila.
